I build websites, read science fiction, grows lots of house plants, fiddle with new programming languages/frameworks/tools and attempt to cook when I have time. November 2017 – Present

  • The dedicated agency for the McDonald’s US creative business
  • Work with a variety of talented individuals to create unique ad media for McDonald’s
  • Develop custom webpages for McDonald’s online presence
  • Investigate nascent technology to find uses in the ad industry
    • Google Assistant skills
    • Face and sentiment analysis from images
    • Use cases for chatbots on Facebook and Slack
  • Created an online tool for our employees to evaluate and comment on all creative work produced by the company

Tech Czar – Flowers For Dreams (https://www.flowersfordreams.com)

June 2015 – October 2017

  • An online artisan flower delivery company that donates to local Chicago charities
  • The company quadrupled in size and delivery volume while I was working there
  • I led a small team responsible for web development, logistics technology and IT operations
  • Duties included application design, application development, server administration and IT assistance

Web Development Intern РMyCabbage and Betterfly

  • Both companies were part of the Lightbank tech incubator and no longer exist
  • Migrated vanilla PHP to use Zend Framework
  • Helped build an API for their mobile application
  • Wrote code to reformat and optimize large sets of images/videos
  • Migrated “Frankenstein” WordPress application to Zend framework


Loyola University Chicago – 2010 to 2015

  • Bachelor of Science, Computer Science
  • Master of Science, Software Engineering
  • Worked on a variety of projects
    • Website redesign for WLUW (Loyola’s student radio station) http://wluw.org
      • Updated the backend infrastructure
      • Redesigned the frontend to be mobile friendly
    • Created a “smart” light outlet controlled by an Android application
      • Used a Raspberry Pi and off the shelf electrical components
      • The Android application connected to the Pi over the LAN to issue commands
    • Built a pH level controller for growing micro-green salads
      • A Raspberry Pi monitored pH levels in a water reservoir and adjusted the level with pumps
      • Designed and constructed simple circuitry
      • Controlled by a Python program
    • Lots of other tinkering
      • Scraping data from the Chicago Transit Authority
      • Various web development projects
